AAC Block Adhesive
AAC adhesives made from concrete, lime, sand and advanced polymers are specially formulated adhesives. In the preparation, other businesses also use fly ash. The 8-12 mm thickness of the mortar is reduced by these adhesives to only 3-4 mm. Compared to conventional cement sand mortar, there are many advantages.
Thin Joints:
In comparison to a cement sand-mortar that takes 8-12 mm thick mortar joint, only 3-4 mm adhesive is sufficient to connect AAC blocks. Hence the jointing material is reduced to 75%.
Less Material Required:
In comparison with cement mortar there is a reduced volume of adhesive consumed by the same wall. Therefore, less materials are needed to join AAC blocks. In the case of AAC block adhesive, the joints are also thin. It reduces the storage space for the material, reduces handling work and decreases transport costs.
Speedy Construction:
The AAC block adhesive is a ready-mix material and is to be mixed with water for use only. While the raw materials must be correctly proportioned for concrete sand mortar, and then carefully combined to produce the paste, which takes time.
Saves Water:
The adhesives are formulated such that they are self-curing. No water is needed for curing the adhesive, and hence they help in saving water as well as money.
Cleanliness on Site:
In case of conventional mortar, due to mixing on site and curing, the cleanliness of site is not maintained. While AAC block adhesive comes in premix form, and is to be mixed with water only. Due to this and its self-curing nature, the cleanliness of site is maintained.
Minimum Process Time:
In case of conventional mortar, due to mixing on site and curing, the cleanliness of site is not maintained. While AAC block adhesive comes in premix form, and is to be mixed with water only. Due to this and its self-curing nature, the cleanliness of site is maintained.
Dry Material is Available throughout the Year:
AAC block adhesive may not be the case for conventional mortar and is available in dry form throughout the year. Moist sand that needs to be dried and then used is sometimes. This will result in an increase in mortar prices.
Less Wastage:
Cement mortar accounts for 20-30% of wastage during its use. While there is negligible or no waste of AAC block adhesive.
Thermal Insulation:
The AAC adhesive block is especially designed for matching the AAC blocks thermal insulation properties. The whole of the masonry thus serves as a thermal shield not to cement mortar.
Quality Control:
The quality control procedures can be easily monitored, and the final product is of superior quality, since the adhesives are produced in factories under controlled conditions. Cement mortar is prepared on site and, as it is prepared on site, it is sometimes hard to maintain the value of mortar. The raw materials cannot be tested for quality once mortar is prepared on-site. The manufacturers test and then use the raw materials for the production of adhesives.
